International Edible Book Festival
@ Muncie Public Library

The fun and laughs and oohs and ahhs return in 2009 as Kennedy holds the annual Edible Books Festival on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Kelsey Timmerman, author of Where Am I Wearing, and Cheryl Crowder, Program Manager of Downtown Development Parnership, will be guest judges for the event.

REGISTER your creation by Wednesday April 1 using the printable registration form below. Online registration is also available.

Forms should be sent to Kennedy Library. The public is invited to view all the entries in the festival after the entries are judged and prizes awarded. Entries that are not pre-registered will not be included for judging and prizes, but they can be on display.

Entirely edible creations should feature books, a literary theme, stories, authors and/or characters. That’s right, all entries must be created of edible materials. Cakes, pies, vegetables, nuts, bread, popcorn, juices, candy and other food stuffs are great. Just make sure it doesn’t melt or get yucky before the Festival is over at 4 p.m.

Edible creations are due at 1:30 p.m. at Kennedy Library for set up Saturday, April 4. Doors close at 2 p.m. and judging begins at 2:15 p.m. and the displays are open for viewing until 4 p.m. (Due to health codes the food creations cannot be served or consumed on the Library premises.) Any entries not removed by 4 p.m. will be discarded by library staff. See winners and entrants from previous years and check out our 2009 Edible Books Blog
